International students must be 17 years or older to be considered to join YA in Fall 2020. We prefer that international members be turning 18 years old within 3 months of starting our program.
Check-in will begin at 8:00 AM. Audition will begin at 9:00 AM
You must register in order to attend the audition. Please register using the form below. When using the form, make sure to choose “Fall 2020” for the Entrance Term and “Yamano Hall, Tokyo, Japan” for the Audition Location (on the second page).
All candidates will be asked to learn a dance routine, introduce themselves in English, sing in English, and answer a question in English.
DANCING: Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for dancing. We will teach you a short dance routine. If you are a trained, advanced dancer please prepare a short routine of your best dance style (jazz, ballet, tap or hip hop).
SINGING: Please be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars of a song in English. The song should be something that shows your vocal range, style, and personality. You will sing a capella (without music). We may ask you to sing a second song that is a different style.
The entire audition will be conducted in English. English proficiency in speaking, listening, and writing is critical for our international members to be successful in our training program. Those candidates who are selected to move to the next phase of our audition process will also be required to successfully complete all steps for the F-1 Student Visa including an English proficiency exam.
