The Young Americans Summer Camp Tour will be traveling across the U.S. during the months of May, June, July, and August. A cast of 30+ Young Americans, ages 18-24, will be the instructors for every camp. Our instructors have experience teaching kids and adults in many languages all around the world. Our camps are an awesome opportunity for students to grow as a people and performers. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to join.

Throughout the week, campers spend time learning an hour show geared for their respective age group as well as fun and interactive classes in singing, dancing, acting, and performance. Additionally, the camp offers a unique experience to gain self-confidence, make new friends, and learn an incredible 1-hour variety show!

Our Summer Camp Includes:

  • Duration: Our 5 days of camp feature 35+ hours of instruction with an instructor to student ration between 5:1 and 3:1. Students spend the first four days learning their show and taking classes. On the final day, students perform the 1-hour variety show they learned. The show day also features a special performance by The Young Americans as a ‘thank you’ for letting us be part of your community for the week.
  • The Show: Each camp culminates in a 2-hour performance for the community. We use music and the show as a tool to inspire teamwork, self-confidence, leadership, and growth within the performing arts.
  • The Camp: This high-energy, comprehensive performing arts camp covers everything from vocal techniques, dance, and comedy improvisation, to stage movement, sound, lighting, and more.
  • Classes, Self-Confidence, & Leadership: In addition, the students will take classes in the areas of voice, dance, song writing, and performance (acting and improv). Every class uses techniques that emphasize individuality and leadership.
  • Cultural Exchange: The Young Americans represent over 35 states throughout the U.S. and 20 countries across the world. Participants have time to ask questions and interact will our international performers to create a unique cultural exchange.
  • Bring Schools Together: A majority of the schools we work with invite schools within a large radius to come participate in the workshop event. Similar to a band/choir invitational, it’s a great way promote cross-school relationships.

- History of Summer Camp Tours -

What began as one week of camp 4 years ago has exploded into two full tours each offering 11 one-week camps throughout the country.

The Young Americans’ Summer Camp is more than just a high-caliber performing arts camp. We believe in sustaining and supporting music programs in the communities we visit each summer. That is why we donate all of the ticket sales collected in our camps to local organizations and school music programs that support music and the arts programs throughout the year.

Frequently Asked Questions | Summer Camps

Is the camp indoor all day or will the campers need sunscreen?

While most of the camp takes place inside, a group may occasionally enjoy the beautiful outdoors as they learn a show segment. As a precaution, applying sunscreen daily before your camper arrives is recommended.

Is your summer camp for experienced dancers/singers?

Yes, with every event we do, we’re able customize material for students with previous training. We continue to make sure each student receives their next step in performing arts education.

I see there are two acts to the show, what is in each act?

The first act is performed by the cast of Young Americans as a “thank you” to the campers and families for welcoming us into your community. The second act features the campers in a variety show they learn throughout the week.

How much is camp?

Follow the camp info and registration link in our tour schedule section to find out how much camp costs at the location near you.

When and where can I purchase tickets for the show?

Tickets are sold during the week of camp at the show venue. Stop in at the beginning or end of each camp day to purchase a ticket. We recommend stopping by before show day to guarantee getting a ticket for the show(s).

Do the campers have to buy tickets for the show?

No. The campers are performers in the show.

Is the camp suitable for kids with special needs?

All are welcome! The Young Americans have a successful history of integration in their teaching endeavors and strive to work with any student interested in the camp. We’re aware, however, that each situation is unique. If you have a special needs student, we invite you to please contact our Summer Camp Producer to discuss what is best for your individual family circumstance.
