The lives of the UK Cast have been extremely busy, but exciting on every level to say the very least. The last couple of weeks have taken us through a whirlwind of experiences. Lets start off with our first day off in Sligo, Ireland. A very quaint town with shops coffee, pretty much everything any Young American had in mind for the day. We were dropped off for about 6 hours to venture on our owns and have the day to ourselves. Some went straight for Top Shop, others got coffee (If you haven’t been to the UK, the mostly drink instant coffee and if I do say so myself its got nothing on Starbucks) then headed for the shops. It was a beautiful town with lovely people and a gorgeous river running through it that looked as though it was filled with Root Beer. We hopped back on the bus and drove to the wonderful town of Magherafelt, Ireland. A town we were visiting for the 4th time, therefore we were greeted with open arms. For example on the first day, all the kids ran in to start workshop and all headed straight for the stage and started their own dance party with little to no help from the Young Americans. With mouths on the floor by most of the cast, we all looked at one another and could not wait to start working with those kids. Learning new slang in every town, I believe one of the new words we learned there was buzzin. And that means you are really excited you are buzzin. A phenomenal workshop with 2 shows on the 3rd day it was epic to say the least. Very difficult to leave but we were headed to Dublin next and could not wait. Moved into a completely different environment with kids who did not know who we were or lived in the City so had a bit more edge to them. This was completely opposite to the town we had been in the town before, but that’s the beauty of touring you are in a completely different place every 3 days and you just never know. We were given the honor and opportunity to perform in a beautiful theatre that was connected to The Dublin City University, called The Helix. An absolutely gorgeous and very large theatre, that not only the kids got to perform in maybe a once in a lifetime experience. But, also gave all of us a challenge to perform in an average gym one town and then a 1200 seat auditorium in 2 days. A challenge, skill and experience many people at the age of 19 to 23 just simply don’t get. This also happened to be our last show with Ross, who had been with us for our first 6 towns. It was extremely hard for all of us to say goodbye because he had not only taught us 7 books worth of skills but gotten so very close to each cast member in different ways. More to come with pictures of our travels as well!
