Upstate New York has given us a few Young Americans on this cast. Grace and Joe Graziano, Chris Martin, and Andrew Castallano were all welcomed with open arms at Attica High School. None of these Young Americans come straight here from Attica, but are so glad to be back in their homestate. When working with the kids they each connected in a completely different way. The next workshop will be in Chris Martin’s hometown.
The most important thing about growing together as a cast is learning and bringing all of that knowledge back to share. Once we’ve learned something it is easier to apply it to workshop. We know where to go during workshop and what to teach. So how do we not fall into routine? We are taking our workshop and ourselves as teachers and performers to a different level. Bruce has helped us raise the bar in our performing, teaching, and just as people in general. We are explaining more to the kids about why we do things and traffic patterns so they will have a better understanding of what is going on. Kids are still human beings and respond better when we treat them as we want to be treated. We are keeping in mind never to underestimate children, because every time you do they will surprise you.
In every real man a child is hidden that wants to play.-Friedrich Nietzsche
